Granny Square Blanket Tah Dah!

I've been a bad little blogger lately. Around the Holidays I seem to be super busy with lots of fun things (as I'm sure all of you are) and don't have as much time for the computer.

Despite my lack of blogging here is a tah dah moment I am super excited about! I finished it so quick that there was no time for in progress pictures :)

It's a super simple granny square blanket. Each square is 7 rounds and the 4th and 7th round are always white. It is 6 squares wide and 7 squares long. The border is just double crochet with each color alternating with white. The border really did seem to take longer than the making of all the squares. I probably won't be doing that big of a border anytime soon.

Sophie approves!

Doesn't it look smashing with my new red gingham Ikea comforter!

There it is! Such a fun project and I'm in love with it :)
Hope you are all having a great week!

    1. Thank you so much Maria! I use a worsted weight acrylic yarn (Hobby Lobby I love this yarn) with a size US H hook. It's my favorite combination :)

  14. This is stunning, and so clever of you to fix the same two rows in white, a random look that works as the white holds it together. Absolutely love the colour scheme, the border, all of it. Fantastic job!

  31. I was so excited when I saw this blanket (via some circuitous route from Pintrest) on Thanksgiving night. I couldn't wait to get to Hobby Lobby and get some yarn to start one for my vintage camper ( I live in it full-time). Knew I wasn't going anywhere yesterday so I loaded up my two furbabies for the drive there this afternoon. We drove the 20 minutes and found a perfect parking space where the dogs would have plenty to see and bark at. Walked in, got a cart and headed directly to the yarn department. My balloon was deflated. They didn't have any shocking pink, light blue or light yellow ( I only needed one of those colors ). I am now crestfallen :>(. Will have to find another Hobby Lobby nearby and will try again on Monday. I will prevail!!! your colors are perfect for my whole camper! Thanks and so glad I found your blog!

  40. Hi Becky,

I've loved this blanket ever since you posted it last year! I was wondering what colors of the HL I Love This Yard you used exactly? I have an IKEA/Cath Kidston Rosali duvet that needs a coordinating granny square blanket and I would love to make one similar to yours. :)

    Thanks and take care,
