Mandala

Last night was dark and rainy so what better to do than drink some Smirnoff ice and crochet a mandala!

The pattern is from issue 4 of Simply Crochet Magazine (my favorite mag by the way).

It looked so cute and  I was craving something simple, fast, and all for me. Originally I was going to be daring and make the petals in bright yellow, but I chickened out and used my favorite light blue. For those who are wondering the yarn is just leftover worsted weight acrylic.

Hope you are all having a great weekend!

  2. I have been thinking a lot about Mandaas of late. I am wondering if they all stem from the mandalas used for assisting meditation. I wonder if you know or maybe hook them with that idea in mind. Yours is very beautiful.
    Kindest regards linda

  5. Never in my life have I tasted Smirnoff ice. I can't even imagine what it looks like. Sounds adventurous though!

Your mandala looks cute, first new piece for your new house?

Perhaps you can make a quilt as well. In that case you can have a look a my give away: two packages of fabrics:

  6. Your mandala is lovely- the pastel colours you've chosen are do pretty. I love Simply Crochet too, but find it so hard to get hold of- hardly anywhere seems to stock it.

  9. Lovely!! Love the Smirnoff ice idea ;) Have tried to see about ordering the Simply Crochet issue #4 to Canada but it is unbelievably expensive for shipping. I was hoping to make this wonderful mandala for my daugther's room. I will search around online for a similar pattern. Have a great weekend!
